Carol Clow
Carol Ruth Clow, 84, formerly of Quincy, Illinois, and most recently, a resident of St. Joseph’s Home in Springfield, Illinois, died Wednesday, December 16th, 2020.
She was the daughter of Walter and Irene Bunte and was born July 30, 1936. She is sister to Barbara Kaiser of Quincy, and two brothers Chuck Bunte of Quincy and Kenneth Bunte of Moline, Illinois.
She married Earl V. Clow on September 29, 1956 in Quincy at St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church.
Earl preceded her in death on August 16, 2008.
Carol was a 1954 graduate of Quincy Notre Dame High School, and was employed at Lammers Optical for many years. Carol enjoyed crossword puzzles, shopping, reading, daily walks, and an occasional game of tennis if followed by pizza and drinks at the Tower Of Pizza. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and her many friends.
Carol was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
She is survived by her five children, Michael Clow and his wife, Pam, of Fowler, Melissa Elmore and her husband, Jay, of Springfield, Marty Sellers and her husband, Dave, of Wildwood, Mo., Barbara Noble of Minneapolis, Mn., and Bryan Clow and his wife, Kristen, of Springfield; grandchildren, Jason (Delisa) and Elizabeth Clow, Hailee Durham (Michael), Mia Elmore, Tyler Sellers, Tori McLeod (Dylan), Shaye Sellers, Nick (Gerae Christensen-Carver), August, and Carly Noble, and Dylan, Stella, and Harper Clow; great-grandchildren, Sawyer and Emerson Clow, Margaux Durham, and Taytem Noble; five nieces also survive.
Services will be private due to COVID-19 restrictions. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Quincy branch of the Alzheimer’s Association. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Our sincere condolences to you all. We have know Carol all through our school years and after. Spent many vacations with her & Earl and all you kids. Carol was very quick witted and always had a smile on her face. We will miss her greatly as we do Earl. Know that she is in our prayers. Love to you all.

Carol and Earl were our neighbors when they lived on Sycamore. We lived on Maple and would talk over the fence when they took walks. Very good people and great neighbors. May Carol Rest In Peace!

My sympathy to the family of Carol. She was a great lady who enjoyed life to the fullest – came from a great family. I can only imagine she received wonderful care at St.Joseph’s Home in Springfield. I know several nuns who serve there, as I volunteer at their Convent in Peoria.
My deepest condolences to the Clow Family. Carol was wonderful, seems like yesterday I remember meeting her and Earl with Brian first day freshmen year at Western IL University. She was warm and friendly with a kind smile. Rest in peace, Carol.
So sorry for your loss. There is never a good time to lose a loved one. I got to know Carol at Bickford while cutting her hair. I would have loved to have known her in her early years I’m sure she enjoyed life to the fullest!
