Carlene R. Barry

Carlene R. Barry, age 73, a resident of Maple Terrace Home in Quincy since 1989, died on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at 5:45 a.m. in Blessing Hospital. She was born on November 22, 1941 in Quincy, a daughter of the late Andrew & Clara (Ohnemus) Barry of Camp Point, IL.

Carlene was previously a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church at Camp Point. She attended the workshop at Transitions.

Survivors include: a sister, Bernice Mowen; two brothers, Kenneth Barry and his wife Imogene and George Barry and his wife Marilyn, all of Liberty, IL; and three sister-in-laws, Patricia Barry of Liberty, Charlotte Barry & Iona Barry both of Quincy. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Paul Barry, Thomas Barry, Vincent Barry, Virgil Barry & William Barry.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 9, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Brigid Catholic Church in Liberty, IL by the Rev. Jeff Stone. Interment will be in St. Brigid Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. at St. Brigid Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Brigid Church, Maple Terrace Group Home Activity Fund or Blessing Foundation for Hospice.
Arrangements are with the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home.

    Your all in my thoughts and prayers. Carlene was a sweet spirited lady and a blessing to many. May God’s holy word in John 11:25-26 & John 14:1-4 bring comfort to souls. and know she has been Usher into the prescience of our God wrap in the arms of LOVE. and we will meet again God’s promises.
