Carlene Louise Schlepphorst Davis O’Brien, 99, died on Tuesday, 20 September 2022 at the home of her daughter in Mesa, AZ. She was born in Quincy, IL on 26 November 1922, the daughter of Arthur J. Schlepphorst and Caroline M. Roling Schlepphorst. She married Harvey Milton Davis on 29 January 1942, who died on 17 November 1981. She then married Thomas J. O’Brien on 9 December 1987, who died on 8 August 1993.

She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church.

She is survived by her four children: Ronald (Rita) of Quincy; Carol Meierotto (Dennis) of Kansas City, MO; Michael of Metairie, LA; and Teri of Mesa, AZ. Her grandchildren are Matthew Davis (Dawn), Suzanne Davis, Tyler Meierotto (Ruby), Taylor Meierotto, Theodore Meierotto (Jennifer), Katie Rizzo (Michael), Emily Meierotto (Steven Montgomery), Molly Slavik (Nicholas), Jenny Henry (Chris). She is also survived by seventeen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her two brothers: Arthur ‘Bud’ (Jean) Schlepphorst and Robert (Joanne) Schlepphorst and also by one great grandchild.

Visitation will be held at St. Peter Catholic Church, 2600 Maine Street, Quincy, on Monday, 3 October 2022 from 10 AM to 11 AM with the Funeral Mass at 11 AM. The Rite of Committal will take place at Calvary Cemetery immediately following the Mass. In lieu of flowers, Masses are preferred. Services are in care of Duker & Haugh Funeral Home.
