Bruce John Nelson
Bruce John Nelson, age 70, of Liberty, IL, died on Friday, January 23, 2015 at his daughter’s home in Effingham, IL. He was born on May 7, 1944 in Quincy, a son of Leroy & Hilda (Stallmann) Nelson.
Bruce served in the U.S. Marine Corp. He was of the Catholic faith.
He was the owner of a window and siding company.
He is survived by a daughter Jade Belcher of Effingham, IL; two grandchildren; two brothers, Tom Nelson & Kenny Nelson; and a sister, Sally Kroner.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Janet Nelson.
As per Bruce’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in Sunset Cemetery at the Illinois Veteran’s Home in Quincy, IL by Msgr. Michael Kuse. There is no visitation but friends are invited to the graveside service.
Bruce was the first neighbor to stop by and introduce himself when we moved to Liberty in 2011. He would often stop and visit with Vern to discuss the cars Vern was working on. He will surely be missed.
