Brenda Kay Frericks
Brenda Kay Frericks age 75, of Quincy died on Friday, June 14, 2024 in Blessing Hospital. Brenda was born in Quincy on June 10, 1949 a daughter of Robert L. and Betty V. (Mason) Gibson. She married Gerald G. Frericks on July 17, 1972, in St. Boniface Catholic Church, and he survives.
Brenda’s work history includes her work at the former Motorola Co., Sycamore Healthcare Centre, Adams County Homemakers, and most recently the Dollar General Store at 6th & Maine in Quincy.
She was a graduate of Quincy Senior High School.
Brenda was of the Catholic faith and attended St. Francis Church.
She had a love of travel, enjoyed cruises, trips to the mountains in Colorado and sightseeing. Brenda also liked reading, sewing, doing puzzles and playing solitaire.
In addition to her husband, survivors include her two children, Pam (James) Robbins of Fredericktown, MO and Cory Frericks of Quincy.
Two grandchildren, Andrew and Paige Robbins; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Marjorie Mittelberg and Dale (Donna) Frericks; a niece Katie Fenn and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Sandy Fenn; a brother Robert L. Gibson, Jr, and a brother-in-law Melvin Frericks.
Funeral services will be Thursday, June 20, 2024 at 9:30 A.M. at Duker & Haugh with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Duker & Haugh Funeral Home, Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, or to Shriners Children’s Hospital.

I am so sorry to learn of her passing. I was a neighbor to her parents and visited them frequently. I was sorry that she was the only survivor of her immediate family….except for her husband and children. Prayers for your family.
