Bonnie Lea Holt
Bonnie Lea Holt, age 79, of 1327 North 5th, died on Sunday, June 12, 2011 at 10:45 AM in her home. She was born on October 10, 1931 in Clayton, IL, the daughter of Fred & Louise (Deeter) Parrick. She married George Holt on January 6th, 1951. He preceded her in death on November 28, 2000. Bonnie was a stay-at-home mom. There was nothing Bonnie enjoyed more than taking care of her grandkids. She was considered grandma to everyone. She enjoyed cooking, baking and playing cards.
She is survived by:
FIVE CHILDREN: Everett “Gene” Uplinger, George Edward Holt and his wife Marie, Dale Elmer Holt, Kathryn “Cat” Harmon and Joey Allen Holt all of Quincy.
ELEVEN GRANDCHILDREN: Carrie Anderson and her husband Paul, Chad Uplinger and his fiance Tracy Tucker, Angela Spurgeon and her husband Rick, Terri Risley and her husband Phil, Scott Holt and his girlfriend Vickie Ellis, Dale James Holt and his wife Lora Lynn, Jessica Sorensen and her husband Desmond, Chad Reddick, Christopher Harmon, Matthew Harmon and his wife Jennifer and Amie Harmon.
A host of great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives also survive.
In addition to her husband, Bonnie was also preceded in death by her parents, a son Melvin Holt in infancy and a grandson David Michael Holt, Seven brothers: Richard E. “Dick”, James “Jim”, William “Bill”, Timothy “Tim”, Fred Jr., Howard Earl and Francis Wayne Parrick and Three Sisters: Nina M. Schlosser, Flava Pyle and Mary L. Balzer.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Entombment in the Quincy Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the wishes of the family.
