Bobby Gene Roberts
Bobby Gene Roberts, age 81, of North Adams Home, Mendon, IL died on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 in the home. He was born October 27, 1930 in Quincy, a son of George & Myrtle (Bradshaw) Roberts. He married Mariam Juanita Carter on October 24, 1975. She preceded him in death on May 2, 2009.
Bobby served in the Army. He was employed at Gardner Denver. He enjoyed fishing and all outdoor activities including trap shooting. He also always enjoyed working with his hands.
He is survived by one son, Kenny Roberts and wife Teri of Wisconsin; two daughters, Christina Johnson and husband Kent and Kim Cressell and husband Dwayne, all of Quincy; six step-children, Ken Daly and his wife Dawn of Crosby, TX, Bob Daly and his wife Anna of Quincy, Lloyd Miller of St. Peters, MO, Debbie Bunfill and her husband Paul of Quincy, Wanda Duniven and her husband Mike of Lubbock, TX and Dennis “Sam” Miller and his wife Sharla of LaGrange, TX; seven grandchildren, Jason Mettmeyer, Sunny Roberts, Colby Roberts, David (Mandi) Johnson, Kelly Johnson, Krysta Cressell & Dallas Cressell; 18 step-grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and two sisters, Shirley McMullin of Springfield, MO and Linda Vetten of Denver, CO. Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
In addition to his wife, Juanita, he was preceded in death by his parents and a step-daughter, Susan Slaughter.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 30, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Monday evening at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services at 6:30. Memorials may be made to the Quincy Senior Citizens Center.

I love you and I know you loved me too. You couldn’t help but love every one of us… That was just you…. We had such fun as children when we went to visit you. I only wish that you just knew how important you were to so many. Rest peaceful Uncle you have a job to do and that is to gather the rest of us together, when our time on Earth is through.
