Blanche Marie Selsor
Blanche Marie Selsor, age 73, of Sunset Home in Quincy died on Tuesday, February 24, 2009 in the Home. She was born on February 19, 1936 in Quincy, Illinois. She was a daughter of William & Goldie (Abel) Powell, Sr. She first married Robert Keith Beaston, Sr. and later married David Harlow Selsor. They both preceded her in death.
She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene.
Before her retirement, she worked as a cook in dietary at local nursing homes.
Blanche loved to sing. One of her favorite times of the year was Christmas. She loved everything about it, especially the music. Blanche was a very religious woman, who loved and cared for everyone.
Survivors include:
CHILDREN: Robert Keith Beaston, Jr., Kathy Beaston, Steven Beaston, Tammy Beaston all of Quincy, Deborah Austin of Thomasville, GA, and Byron Selsor (Dawn) of Hannibal, MO;
BROTHERS: Robert Powell (Marilyn), and Milton Powell (Dodie) both of Quincy;
SISTERS: Wilma Clement of Hannibal, MO;
NINE GRANDCHILDREN;
FIVE GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN;
Several nieces & nephews also survive.
Blanche was preceded in death by her parents, one granddaughter, Destiny, five brothers, and six sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home by Rev. Chad Garinger. Interment will be in Quincy Memorial Park.
Visitation will be Friday evening from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association or for the care of her sons, Bob & Steve Beaston c/o Duker & Haugh Funeral Home, 823 Broadway Street, Quincy, IL 62301.
