Betty Nell Hahn

Betty Nell Hahn, age 73, of 506 Dudley Street, Liberty, died on Friday, February 4, 2011 at 4:02 a.m. in Blessing Hospital. She was born on June 7, 1937 in Quincy, Illinois, a daughter of Lawrence and Ivan (Carter) Graff.

She married Emory A. Hahn on November 20, 1955 in Pleasant View Baptist Church and he survives. They celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary in 2010.
Betty was a member of Liberty Christian Church.

She was a 1955 graduate of Liberty High School and she had attended Western Illinois University . Betty was previously employed as head cook at Liberty School. Later, she also worked at the Quincy Regional Airport Restaurant, Ponderosa/York Steak House, & Mike’s Place.

Betty enjoyed motorcycle trips with Emory and traveling to see her children and grandchildren. She liked baking for her family and wanted everyone to have a seat and enjoy the meals she prepared. Betty loved children and red birds. This month she would have been undergoing dialysis for five years.

FOUR CHILDREN: Alvin (Shirley) Hahn of Pleasant Hill, MO, Norma Nell (Mike) Colgrove of Liberty, IL, Roger (Darlene) Hahn of Odessa, TX, and Jamie (Jodie) Hahn of Liberty;

ELEVEN GRANDCHILDREN: Cory (Aimee) Hahn of Blue Springs, MO, Angie (Jake) Zuydendorp of Raymore, MO, Becky (Josh) Coster of Raymore, MO, Ashley (Ethan) Loos of Columbus, IL, Garret Colgrove of Liberty, Dustin (Kara) Hahn of Midland, TX, Rachel (Nathan) Chapman of Odessa, TX, Kayla Hahn of Birmingham, AL, Jordan Hahn, Jenna Hahn, and Julia Hahn all of Liberty;

EIGHT GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Daelyn & Megan Hahn, Chandler & Landan Zuydendorp, Kaden and Adeline Hahn, and Elijah and Noah Chapman.

Many in-laws, nieces, and nephews also survive.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister, Merrie Evelyn Hahn.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Liberty Christian Church
by Rev. Karl Flentje. Interment will be in Pleasant View Cemetery in Liberty.
Visitation will be held on Monday evening from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home in Quincy, and from 1:30-2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the church.
