Betty A. Linnemeyer, age 82, of Champaign County Nursing Home, Champaign, Illinois, formerly of Liberty and Quincy, died on Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at 1:45 p.m. in Champaign. Betty was born on March 12, 1925 in Quincy, Illinois. She was a daughter of George (Hap) and Alice (Bowles) Oblander. She married Roy Linnemeyer on June 20, 1948 in Luther Memorial Church in Quincy, Illinois. He preceded her in death on June 24, 1996.

Betty was a member of Luther Memorial Church in Quincy.

She attended Quincy High School and Gem City Business School.

Betty enjoyed painting and cooking.

SON: David Linnemeyer.
DAUGHTER: Dr. Susan A. Linnemeyer;
ONE GRANDCHILD: Taskin Linnemeyer Sehitoglu

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home by Rev. George Tomko. Interment will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the services at the funeral home. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Liberty Education Foundation in Betty’s memory.
