Betty F. Altrogge, age 89, of 1025 Catherine Drive, Quincy, died on December 25, 2013 in Sunset Home. She was born on August 19, 1924 in Quincy, a daughter of Elmer & Pearl (Thomas) Nelson. She married Elmer F. Altrogge on February 6, 1946 in Quincy. He preceded her in death on February 16, 1973.

Betty attended Madison School and was a graduate of Quincy Senior High School. She worked over the years as a key punch operator at Gardner Denver, and was employed at both the Quincy Public Library and Quincy Homemaker Services. Her greatest occupation, however, was as a homemaker for her family.

She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.

Betty was an avid card player. She also enjoyed playing games and reading.

Survivors include her three daughters, Sandra Voshake and her husband Michael of Columbus, IN, Patricia Schonhoff and her husband Jerry of Milford, MA and Judith Klingele of Monticello, MO; seven grandchildren, Judy Schonhoff, Suzy (Kevin) Sloan, Shane (Vanessa) Schonhoff, Jennifer Voshake, Jill (Alex) Poulemanos, Sarah (Mike) Hull and Mary Jane Klingele; two great grandchildren, Emily Sloan & Alexis Hull; sisters, Thelma Murphy of Reidsville, NC and Norma Begeman of Quincy; and a brother Don Nelson of Perry GA.

In addition to her husband, Elmer, and her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Leroy Nelson.
