Betty Ann Grafton
August 8, 1928 – March 13, 2015
Betty Ann Grafton passed away on Friday peacefully in her sleep. She touched many lives with her generous heart and fun, adventurous spirit.
Betty was born in Quincy, IL and graduated from Quincy High School on June 7, 1946. She had a deep love for animals and had an adorable monkey named Sookie. After living the single life in San Diego and attending school, she moved back to Quincy, found the love of her life, and married at the age of 28. They connected with a common interest in archery, flying and travel. As a Globe Trotting Duo, they have been able to see all kinds of amazing countries, such as Ireland, Spain, Italy, Australia, Japan, Fiji, The Galapagos Islands and many more exotic places. She proudly and successfully worked for the U.S. Post Office for 25 years. Once she retired she enjoyed her grandchildren and more traveling with her husband.
Betty has joined her loving husband, Louis Grafton and her two beloved sons, David & Thomas Grafton, in Heaven.
She is survived by her devoted daughter, Karen and her husband Jim James of Modesto and grandchildren Shandi Hunter and Mariah James of Hayward, and Joshua James who is currently serving in the U.S. Army in Georgia. She is also survived by her son Thomas’s wife Eileen Grafton and two children Jason and Jennifer Grafton of Castro Valley.
Her big heart, sweet nature and uplifting, giggly laughter will be missed by all.
