Betty Ann Belker

Betty Ann Belker age, 84 of 1120 Anne Ave. Quincy died on Friday, April 11, 2014 at 10:05 p.m. in the Emergency Room of Blessing Hospital. Betty was born October 22, 1929 in Quincy, a daughter of Carl F. and Ella F. (Leu) Ketzler. She married George E. Belker on February 11, 1961 in St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church, officiated by George’s uncle, Rev. Landelin Belker, O.F.M.

Betty retired June 1, 1997 after working over forty years for United Industries Credit Union, formerly Gardner Denver Employees Credit Union. At the time of her retirement she had attained the position of President and Treasurer of the credit union.

Betty served on the Board of Directors for the Quincy Charter Credit Union and for the Illinois Credit Union League, where she represented area credit unions at the state level for ten years. Betty was inducted into the Illinois Credit Union League’s Hall of Fame and she has a perpetual scholarship in her honor.

Betty was a 1946 graduate of Quincy Senior High School and a graduate of Gem City Business College. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, where she counted the collection on many Sundays, and she was a former member of the St. Rose of Lima Altar Society. She was also a member of the Royal Neighbors Camp #51.

In addition to her husband George, survivors also include a son, Thomas G. (Karen)Belker of Paloma, IL. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Charles G. Ketzler and a sister Margie E. Seyfried.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church by Monsignor Michael Kuse. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will beTuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Blessed Sacrament School or to the Donor’sChoice.
