Betty A. Gille

Betty A. Gille, age 88, of 901 South 36th Street, died on July 18, 2014 in Blessing Hospital. She was born on June 15, 1926 in Quincy, a daughter of Walter and Blanche (Wells) Lohmeyer. She first married Earl Jack Hiland, then married Louis Frank Gille and they both preceded her in death.

Betty was a homemaker. She was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed going to the casino and playing Bingo.

Betty is survived by nine children: Ray Hiland, Jackie Hiland, Jerry Gille (stepson), Larry “Fogo” Hiland, Marcia “Gille” Lewis (stepdaughter), Sharon “Hiland” Howerton, Roger D. Gille, Alan F. Gille, and Cheryl A. Gille: seventeen grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren, two brothers, Harvey Lohmeyer and Tommy Lohmeyer.
Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands and seven siblings: Walter “Sonny” Lohmeyer, Donald “Bobby” Lohmeyer, Helen Tibbits, Mildred “Mitty” Standbridge/Miller, Virginia Adrian, Alice Simpson and Florence Rosendale.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, July 21, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. in Quincy Memorial Park. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charitable organization of the donor’s choice.
Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

    We send our sympathy to the family. We will always remember Betty being full of life and speaking her mind. I had alot of fun when we bowled together years ago
