Bernard D. “Butch” Straube

Bernard D. ‘Butch’ Straube, age 64, of Quincy, died on June 21, 2020 at 12:15 PM in his home. He was born on March 3, 1956 in Quincy, IL the son of George and Millie (Gallaher) Straube. Butch had previously worked in maintenance for the Quincy Housing Authority and later at Huber until his retirement.

Butch was always known as a storyteller.

He is survived by:
ONE SON: John Straube
SIBLINGS: Linda Miller (Ed), Mary Fuller (Garry) and George Straube.
Several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Family memorial services will be held at a later date. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

    Sorry To hear of Butch’s passing. We didn’t stay real close after I moved back to Decatur. Rest in peace Butchie.

    We are sorry for your loss. We always enjoyed running into Butch to hear what he was up to at the time. We will never forget him being the best man at our wedding. He was a fun loving guy.

    Butch was one of the sweetest men I’ve ever met. He had the biggest heart and would go out of his way to do anything he could to help somebody. I am going to miss you Butchie, you’ll forever have a place in my heart!
