Barbara Jo Brown-Meyer

Barbara Jo Brown-Meyer, age 72, of Quincy died on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at 9:47 p.m. in Golden Good Shepherd Home.
Barbara was born in Quincy on January 4, 1950, a daughter of John T. and Letha (Lantz) Brown. She married Alan G. Meyer on June 9, 1978, in Quincy, and he survives.

Professionally, she was most recently employed as a librarian at Baldwin Elementary School, retiring in 2010. She attended Salem Evangelical United Church of Christ.

Her number one favorite thing to do was spend time with her two grandsons. Barbara liked playing cards, especially Euchre, taking day trips to the Casino, watching NASCAR, baseball and football games.

In addition to her husband, survivors include her two sons, Scott Meyer, Mathew Meyer and his wife Rossana; her grandsons, Kellen and Jaxx Meyer and their Mom, Cheyanne Flynn.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, A son Brian Meyer during childbirth and her brother Michael K. Brown.

Following cremation, private graveside services will be at Greenmount Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Blessing Foundation for Hospice, and may be sent to:

    I am shocked to hear of Barbs death. My deepest condolences to Alan, Scott and Matt and your family. I always enjoyed our visits years ago to play Trivial Pursuit!     These were sad news to us specially being so far now, We are so grateful to have meet Barb, she was really nice, welcoming and fun to talk too. She will be missed. All our love and prayers for the Meyer Family
