Barbara Jean Wolf
Barbara Jean Wolf, age 84, of Quincy passed away Friday, January 13, 2023 in Blessing Hospital. Barb was born in Quincy on March 7, 1938, a daughter of Francis and Virginia (Ronk) Griffin. She married Kenneth Edward Wolf in St. Peter Catholic Church on October 10, 1959, and he survives.
Barb went to Payson Seymour High School, and after the family moved to Quincy, she graduated from Quincy Senior High. After graduation she went to work at Moorman Manufacturing Co. as a secretary. Once she and Ken started having a family, she stayed home to take care of their children. After the children were all in school, Barb returned to work in the store at Deters Dairy, later moving to their office as a bookkeeper. She retired in 2005.
A devout Catholic, she was an active member of the Church of St. Peter. She participated in the Adoration Chapel, she was a Eucharistic Minister and served on the Nursing Home Ministry, and Social Concerns Committee.
Barb was a helper at heart, she gladly spent a lot of time with her grandchildren after her retirement. She was a seamstress and did crocheting, leaving many handmade blankets and crafts for her family to treasure. She adored her dogs and cats and was a big fan of Elvis. She even saw Elvis in concert before he was famous, and a later trip to Graceland was a highlight of her life.
In addition to her husband, survivors include her children: Kevin Wolf, Kendall Wolf, and Karen Wolf all of Quincy; Kurt (Tanya) Wolf of Liberty, IL and Kimberly (John) Miller of Quincy.
Grandchildren: Rebecca (A.J.) Lane, Katelyn (Shane) Nelson and Carly Wolf; Kaylee (Andrew) Jansen, Alexis Wolf and Shawn (Daniele) Wolf; Kory Oliver, Justin (Ashley) Wolf and Kristin Martin; Connor, Carson and Cannen Wolf; Madelyn and Carter Miller.

Sending condolences, love and prayers to Ken, Karen, Kory, Justin and Kristin and the rest of the family.
Barb was a very sweet, kind and caring person. She will be remembered fondly and missed by many!
Our hearts go out to the entire family during this time of loss. The most difficult time is understanding that grief is a continuation of love and because we have such love for our family our sorrow can be great.
Barbara was a true blessing to our daughter Grace and we will never forget the kindness she showed her when she welcomed her into her home. Our daughter Grace came home after spending the evening with the wolf family and was in tears saying how Barbara’s hug and smile reminded her of her own grandmother and that she enjoyed sitting in the home watching her interact with her family because she could tell how much she loved them. Grace said when she left that evening she got teary eyed because she didn’t want to say goodbye. We will always hold that memory of Barbara in our hearts as it was so important to our daughters story and a true blessing to her to have that moment.
Please know your entire family will be in our prayers and hearts
And may God surround you with comfort and peace

I had the pleasure of meeting Barbara and her family while she was a resident at our facility. She was very kind and generous. Barbara loved her family, and I always awaited anxiously for them to visit to which they did every day. I am sure she is resting comfortably in the arms of the angels, may God bless all of you and know that you are in our prayers.

Dear Karen and family,
Please accept our condolences on the passing of your mother etc. Although we didn’t know her personally I know she had to be a very special woman. She and your dad did a great job with raising you Karen and even though I don’t know the rest of your family, I am sure they did a great job with them as well. Please know that you are in our prayers and that you have a very special place in my heart. Heaven gained an Angel. God Bless you and accept God’s comfort.
