Barbara Hooper

Barbara M. Hooper, age 81, of the St. Vincent Home, formerly of the Lincoln Douglas Apartment, died on Sunday, March 26, 2017 in the Home. She was born on April 4, 1935 in Keokuk, IA, the daughter of Marvin and Ruby Wilsey. She was a cook at the Lakeview Restaurant.

Barbara went to American Legion and Eagles dances to listen to the music. She enjoyed fishing. She loved spending her time with her family, especially the grandkids.

She is survived by:
SIX KIDS: Marvin McCombs (Lisa) of Memphis, MO; Jack Hooper (Mary) of Kahoka, MO; Larry Hooper (Diana) Wyaconda, MO; Jim Hooper also of Wyaconda, MO; Bill Hooper of Kahoka, MO; and Penny Thompson (George) of Ursa, IL.
SON-IN-LAW: Steve Shelley of Memphis, MO
SPECIAL FRIEND: Patsy Jansen of Quincy, IL
BROTHERS: James Wilsey (Sherry); Bob Wilsey; Bernard Wilsey (Carol) and Carl Wilsey (Karen)
SISTER: Darlene Seavey
Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter Ruby Shelley and two brothers: David and Donnie Wilsey.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at 6:00 PM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 4:00 until the time of the services at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Quincy Humane Society or to St. Vincent Home.
