Barbara “Barb” Vahle

Barbara “Barb” J. Vahle, age 80, of Quincy died on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at 8:25 p.m. in Blessing Hospital. Barb was the daughter of Fred and Lucille (Kill) Reinold, born in Quincy on October 28, 1941. She married Harold D. Vahle on July 28, 1962, in St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church. She devoted her life to taking care of her family.

She was a 1959 graduate of Notre Dame High School. She was a former member of St. John’s Parish and an active member of St. Francis Catholic Church. She dedicated her time as a volunteer at the parish. Barb also volunteered at the Quincy Senior Center and while at St. John’s, she was a den mother for the Cub Scouts for many years. She loved playing cards, going to the Casino, playing Bingo and games with her children and grandchildren. Barb also enjoyed attending her grandkids sporting events and school activities.

In addition to her husband Harold, survivors also include her three children:
Ted (Tammy) Vahle; Susie (Jim) Keller all of Quincy and Jim (Elizabeth Jenkins) Vahle of Lee’s Summit, MO.

Five grandchildren, Brennan (Courtney) Vahle; Zach (fiancee, Katie Clapp) Vahle;
Madelyn Vahle; Landon and Noland Vahle.

A sister, Judie Timpe of Quincy, the members of “Club” (childhood and current best friends) and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Barb was preceded in death by her parents and a brother-in-law, Gene Timpe.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. at Duker & Haugh Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Duker & Haugh. Memorials are suggested to St. Francis School or to the St. Francis Food Pantry.
