Barbara A. Veile
Barbara A. Veile age 74, of 1931 Hugenberg Lane, Fowler, IL died on Friday, June 8, 2018 at 9:33 p.m. in Good Samaritan Home. Barbara was born in Quincy on September 12, 1943 in Quincy a daughter of Leo D. and Agnes A. (Witsken) Wiemelt. Barb married Norbert Veile on August 14, 1965 in Quincy’s St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Norbert preceded her in death on March 10, 2017.
Barb had worked as a hairdresser, and she was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church. Her favorite activities were gardening, taking care of her yard, golfing and a trip to the “boat”.
Survivors include:
THREE CHILDREN: Ellen Kemner and her husband Paul of Quincy; Kevin Veile of Fowler, and Brian Veile and his wife Donna also of Fowler.
FIVE GRANDCHILDREN: Lauren A. Kemner; Katelyn M. Fessenden and her husband Ryan; Olivia A. Kemner, Ella Veile and Jacob Veile.
ONE GREAT-GRANDCHILD: Gianna Kemner;
BROTHERS and SISTERS-In-Law: Butch (Sue) Wiemelt; Ronnie Wiemelt; Jerry (Shelly) Wiemelt all of Quincy; Mike (Jeannie) Wiemelt of Chicago, IL: Leanna (Tom) Gilbert of Kearney, MO and Joan Upschulte of Quincy.Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. in St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church by Rev. Robert Barko, O.F.M. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:30 in St. Francis Solanus Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Unity Point Hospice, Fishing for Freedom or the Great River Honor Flight. Funeral arrangements are with the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home.
