Sorry to hear of August’s passing. The last time we visited August was in 1984.I brought my dad “Ralph” to visit around Quincy and his cousins at that time.I remember August took us to a restaurant at the old windmill flour mill.
Sending my sympathy to Pat & Wm Goerlich,Jimmy & Louann Smith and all the family, my heart and prayers are with you all.
To my favorite uncle – “Uncle August” – so many childhood memories of growing up and spending time with you on the farm…why that’s even where
I learned to drive – with you and a Model A Truck!
So-so glad we shared a wonderful day together, just this past December…we laughed and joked
about the old days…and you thanked me for coming
by to see you…well Uncle..can never thank you enough for just being you – we all already miss you!!!
Love you always …. Rick Rokita
Jim, I was sorry to hear of August’s death and sorry Mom and I didn’t get to visit him the last time we were in Quincy for doctor (December-she got too tired). Mom fell in Feb with fx of pelvis and is now in Twin Pines NH in Kirksville. We are praying for your family and for August’s final rest. I remember his kindness and friendly smile when we would visit Uncle Elmer at Vet’s Home. It is hard to lose your father, you are in our thoughts. Mary
