Audrey E. Holtschlag
Audrey E. Holtschlag age 92, of Quincy died on Sunday, March 21,2021 at 3:18 p.m. in St. Vincent’s Home. Audrey was born in Quincy, IL on October 3, 1928 a daughter of Ubert and Ruth (Reeder) Allen.
She married Arthur L. Holtschlag on May 28, 1949 in Quincy’s St. Mary Catholic Church. Arthur died on February 19, 1994.
Audrey was retired after being employed 20 years as a cook at Cheerful Home. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Parish and a longtime volunteer at the Ladies of Charity. Audrey cherished the time spent with her family, especially her many grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren. She liked playing cards and reading.
Survivors include her children: Connie Holtschlag, David “Mike” (Margaret) Holtschlag; Arthur “Chester” Holtschlag; Kathy (Terry) Post; Ed Holtschlag, Curt (Deby) Holtschlag; Greg (Penny) Holtschlag; Mary Ely, Chris (Kevin) Drummond and Paul Holtschlag all of Quincy.
21 Grandchildren, Julie (Dan) Bridgeman; Richie Holtschlag, Angie Holtschlag, Matthew Holtschlag, Nicole (Dave) Taylor, Andrea (Ryan) Witt, Ryan Holtschlag, Jennifer Post, Kara (Phil) Putnam, Adam (Ashley) Holtschlag, Nicolas (Amber) Holtschlag, Steven (Jennifer) Moore; Jesse Holtschlag, Cody Holtschlag, Jared Holtschlag, James Ely, III and his fiancée, Lexi Rahl, Brook (Jake) Linenfelser, Darin (Candace) Drummond, Lindsey (Levi) Parson, Audrey (Blake) Barry; and Seth Holtschlag. Numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews also survive.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons, Rich and Bill Holtschlag, a sister Roxie Allen, and 3 brothers, Wiley Allen, Ubert Allen, Jr. and Wilbert “Web” Allen.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 26, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday afternoon from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Blessed Sacrament. If attending services, please wear a face mask and follow distancing guidelines.
Memorials are suggested to Blessing Foundation for HOSPICE, Blessed Sacrament Parish, or to Cheerful Home.
My thoughts have been with all of you today. I’m sorry we could not be there in person. So many beautiful memories of your sweet, loving mom. My best thoughts today, Friday, are that there is a revived Friday Night Card game going on in heaven tonight. Hugs to you all.
Audrey’s Family, I am so sorry to hear of Audreys death. She was a dear person, I loved her so much. Do to my health I will not be able to come to the funeral. She was so well loved,it will be a crowded place. I will send a donation in her honor. Love you all.

My sympathies to the family. Audrey played cards with my mother, Elizabeth Mosley and his just about every card party they could find. They were best of friends. I know all of you will miss her. My sympathies.
My parents and thoughts go out to you. I worked with Ms Audrey at Cheerful Home. She was a very sweet lady and the best cook we had. She will be missed.
