Arthur E. “Ed” Rardon, Sr.
Arthur E. “Ed” Rardon, Sr., age 66, of Clayton, IL, died on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 in Blessing Hospital. Ed was born November 15, 1951 in Quincy, a son of Arthur and Ruth (Reddick) Rardon. He married Connie Pelton on June 10, 1972 in Quincy and she survives.
Ed attended Gem City Business College and worked as a jeweler/goldsmith.
He was very proud of his service in the U.S. Navy. Ed was a Christian and even served as a Youth Pastor for a period of time. Ed’s greatest joys included spending time with family (especially his grandchildren), telling stories, playing cards, and meeting new people. He would find time to chat with anyone and brighten their day.
In addition to his wife Connie, survivors also include his father-in-law Gene Pelton of Florida; THREE children: Lisa Hallam and her husband Bobby of Washington, IL; Maria Spilker and her husband Tony of Quincy; Arthur Rardon, Jr. and his wife Lacey also of Quincy. TEN grandchildren, Blake, Zach & Sophie Hallam; Kelsey (Jeremy) Davenport; Cristen and Micheal Spilker; Austin and Dominic Golay; Jake and Jonah Rardon. Brothers and sisters, TWO BROTHERS: Robert Rardon and his wife Sharon and Ricky Rardon and his wife Julie; FOUR SISTERS, Joyce Nichols, Cynthia Mason and her husband Mark, Rita Robbins and her husband Harlan & Pamela Leaver and her husband Jack. Many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his mother-in-law Clarice Pelton; brothers, Tom and David Rardon and an uncle, Dale Rardon.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 11, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment will be at Sunset Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the Great River Honor Flight.
Really miss him. Praying for you and your family. You are all strong and will survive, but it will take time. God bless you all.

I saw Art’s picture and couldn’t believe it. He has always been a great guy and a lot of fun. I don’t remember the last time I saw you guys.
