Arletha Shaw

Arletha Shaw, age 52, of Sycamore Healthcare Centre was called home to our Father, after a long struggle with MS, on Monday, October 25, 2010 in Blessing Hospital. She was born on May 25, 1958 in Quincy, Illinois. She was a daughter of William and Georgia Mae (Nixon) Shaw.

Arletha enjoyed life and had a great talent for drawing. She moved to Denver, Co. to raise her children. Upon returning to Quincy she continued her zest for life, children, grandchildren and rejoiced in the readings of our lord and savior. Arletha always had a smile and a kind word to all. Always giving even when MS claimed her ability to walk, write, or think in the way she was accustomed.

She leaves behind two sons, Manny Shaw of Aurora, Co. and Michael Shaw of Denver, Co.
One daughter, Malika Shaw of Denver. Co. Four Grandchildren, Nautica Shaw, Joshawn Shaw Clark, Nakiya Shaw Clark, Nayoki Shaw Clark all of Denver, Co.. One brother William Shaw of Cambodia, six sisters, Nellie Bradshaw, Heidi Shaw, JoAnne Shaw, all of Quincy, Brenda Johnson of Fowler, Il. and Ruth Shaw of Columbia, Mo. and a host of nieces and nephews.

Those who have prepared the way before her were her mother and father, Georgia Mae and William Shaw, her grandmother Nellie Mallory, and a brother Roger Shaw.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, October 29, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. by Rev. George Tomko. There is no visitation but friends are invited to attend the graveside service. Interment will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

    We will always hold close our love, thoughts, and great memories for Arletha. Blessings to her siblings and many blessings to Malika, Manual and Michael and their children, your mother was a very special women.
