Arlene P. Heilwagen age 79, of Quincy died on Monday, April 8, 2013 at 8:44 p.m. in Good Samaritan Home. She was born February 22, 1934 in Melrose Township, IL a daughter of John and Clara (Peter) Aschemann. She married Jack Heilwagen on November 9, 1957 in Quincy’s St. Anthony Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on June 5, 2008.

Arlene was a homemaker, she also worked at Motorola years ago, and for over twenty years at Quincy Rug Works.

She was a 1952 graduate of Notre Dame High School.
Arlene was a member of Blessed Sacrament Parish.

She and her husband Jack enjoyed camping for many years, one of their favorite places was Siloam Springs State Park. For several years they wintered in Arizona and spent their summers in Jackson Hole, WY. Arlene was happy to be outdoors and doing activities such as walking, gardening, and mushroom hunting. Arlene cherished time with her family, and happily cooked many meals for them to enjoy.

Survivors include her five sons, Monty (Analee) Heilwagen of Payson, IL; Rory Heilwagen of Quincy; Tom (Colleen) Heilwagen of Glenview, IL; Scott Heilwagen and Greg (Kim) Heilwagen all of Quincy; three grandchildren, Craig Heilwagen of Glenview, IL; Hannah and Emma Heilwagen both of Quincy; two sisters, Ann Barnoski of Wildwood, MO and Carolyn Nutt of Quincy;
three sisters-in-law, Mary Smith, Pat and Edie Aschemann all of Quincy;

Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and brothers and sisters, Marcellus Aschemann, Mercedes Smith, Mary, Jim and Orville and Carl Aschemann and Carol Vaughn.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 12, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church by Msgr. Michael Kuse. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a parish prayer service at 6:30 p.m..
