Arlene Lansing
Arlene Lansing, age 94, of Quincy passed away on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at 8:20 p.m. in St. Vincent Home, Quincy.
Arlene was born May 8, 1927, in Quincy the daughter of John T. and Anne Reise Peters. She married Edward Lansing on September 1, 1948. He survives.
Arlene and Ed loved being on their 30-acre farm together in Mendon, IL. They have raised cattle, sheep, chicken, and a number of dogs. They loved working in their vegetable garden and sharing the produce to family and close neighbors.
Arlene was a long-time member of the Church of St. Peter in Quincy.
She is survived by her husband, three children, Mike (Bonnie) Lansing of Quincy, Fred (Sheree) Lansing (Beverly Hills, FL) and Patti (Bob Sass) Lansing (St. Petersburg, FL); a host of nieces, nephews, and grandchildren also survive.
Arlene was preceded in death by her son, Steve (Diane) Lansing, her siblings, Ken Peters, Sr. Joan Marie Peters, Helen Merker, Juletta Mast, Mary Coens, Esther Hannant, Bernice Glisan, Sr. Leatha Peters, and Raymond, Wilbert, John, Virgil and Harold Peters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 24, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. in the Church of St. Peter. Fr. Leo Enlow will officiate. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 10:00 -10:30 a.m. in the Church of St. Peter. Memorials may be made to the Church of St. Peter.

Ed and family, I am so sorry to read of Arlene’s death. I always enjoyed coming to see her and will never make chili without using dried beans again! I think of you both every time I go to Steak and Shake! May God grant you the strength in the days and weeks ahead and may your memories provide you comfort.
