Arlene Ebbing

Arlene L. Ebbing, age 87, of 1239 South Park Terrace, died on April 24, 2011 at 12:04 AM in the Blessing Hospital Emergency Room. She was born on November 23, 1923 in Quincy, IL the daughter of Rudolf F. & Leona L. (Sibbing) Klene. She married Alfred J. Ebbing on October 26, 1946 in St. Francis Catholic Church. He survives. Prior to her marriage, Arlene worked as a telephone operator in Quincy and later during the war at Camp Ellis near Macomb. She is a member of Blessed Sacrament Parish. Along with her husband, Arlene was a long-time and active member of St. Boniface Catholic Church where she was active with the St. Boniface Quilters, volunteered for the Shrove Tuesday Card party, the PTA Bingo at the Church and also for the Hot Lunch Program at St. Boniface School. Arlene was also a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts. More recently, Arlene helped to organize and was active with the Low Vision Support Group.

TWENTY-THREE GRANDCHILDREN; Mark Ebbing and his partner Ken Stears; Chris Ebbing and his wife Sarah; Jeff Ebbing and his wife Dawn; Sarah Niemann and her husband Mark; Nathaniel Ebbing; Dr. Jon Ebbing and his wife Dr. Devin; Abbey Klarner and her husband Matt; Matt Ebbing; Robyn Iseminger and her husband mark; Kristi Ebbing and her fiancee Trevor Beck; Brant Erickson and his wife Liz; Katie Ebbing, Kevin Young and his wife Jennifer; Keith Young and his wife Danielle; Jessica Loos and her husband Matt; Justin Ebbing; Blake Ebbing, Brady Ebbing, Sabrina Ebbing, Regina Ebbing, Kristina Ebbing, Tim Clark, and Emily Ebbing.
SIXTEEN GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Hanah, Benjamin, Jeff, Hannah, Elizabeth, Katelyn, Courtney, Colby, AJ, Stella, Greta, Tanner, Seth, Conner, Madison, and Devyn.
ONE BROTHER: Bill Klene and his wife Hildegard of Upperville, VA
ONE SISTER: Marilyn Monardo of Mill Valley, CA
Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter Cheryl Theresa Ebbing in infancy and a brother Jerry Klene.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 2, 2011 at 9:30 in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and a mass of Christian burial at 10:00 in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church by Msgr. Michael Kuse. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home with a prayer services at 6:45 PM. Memorials may be made to Blessed Sacrament Parish, the Knights of Columbus TV Mass for Shut-ins, the Meals on Wheels Program, the Low Vision Support Group or to the Great River Honor Flight Program.
