April Suzanne Rohn

April Suzanne Rohn, age 39, of Quincy, died on Thursday, July 15, 2021 in her home. She was born on November 1, 1981 in Quincy, the daughter of Mark A. and Susan M. (Obert) Frericks. She married Ryan L. Rohn on April 21, 2012 in St. Anthony Catholic Church. He survives.

April graduated from Quincy Notre Dame and attended John Wood Community College. She was employed by the Quincy Public Schools as secretary to food services, then supervisor of general ed bus transportation and most recently, as secretary at Baldwin School.

She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Parish.

April’s daughter, Eleanor, husband Ryan and her entire family were everything to her. She was known for planning activities and the next trip or vacation.
Her bubbly personality and love of family and friends will always be cherished.

In addition to her husband Ryan, April is survived by her beloved daughter, Eleanor Rohn; her parents Mark and Susan Frericks; maternal grandmother Rosalie “Sis” Obert, all of Quincy.

Her sisters, Kimberly (Jason) Knotts and Ginny Lease all of Quincy;
father-in-law Roger Rohn, brother and sisters-in-law, Laura Fry and Raymond (Stacee) Rohn all of Mt. Sterling, IL.

Nieces and nephews: Brandon and Taylor Lease, Kendra (Justin) Cox, Kayla (Isaac) Walter; Courtney (Austin) Rayborn, Riley Rohn and Race Rohn; great nieces and nephews: Jase Walter; Logan Cox, Beckett Rayborn.
Many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends also survive.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Virgil Obert, paternal grandparents, Tony and Lucille Frericks, mother-in-law, Ruby Rohn, and uncle and godfather, Bob Frericks.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 26, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, with Rev. Tom Donovan officiating. Interment will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at St. Anthony Church, and Monday from 9:30 until the time of the funeral mass at the church.

Those attending April’s service are asked to wear a face mask and observe distancing guidelines to protect April’s Dad, Mark, who is recovering from a double-lung transplant.

Memorials may be made for Eleanor Rohn’s education at St. Dominic School.
