Annis Holzgrafe

Annis Holzgrafe, age 79, of Quincy, died on Thursday, January 9, 2020 in St. Vincent’s Home. She was born on March 30, 1940 in Nebo, IL the daughter of Robert Nelson McClimen and Annis Mosaline (Stone) McClimen. Annis was a Jehovah’s Witness.

Annis was a creative storyteller. She enjoyed painting and drawing and loved the time spent with family.

Annis was married to Larry Higgins. From that union they had:
TWO DAUGHTERS: Becky Kurtenbach (Kurt) of Tuscon, AZ and Lois Brink (Dave) of Quincy.
Annis is also survived by: GRANDCHILDREN: Samuel Fernandez, Alisha Marquez, Timothy Kurtenbach, William Kurtenbach, Melissa Klauser, and Amber Bowen.
GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Lyrique, Marley, Kyre, Everhett, and Bella Rio.
SIBLINGS: Robert McClimen, Grace Williams, and Lena Smock.

Annis was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Mary McClimen, Harry McClimen and Martha Lane.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2020 at 1:00 PM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment will take place in Greenmount Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 12:00 noon until the time of the services.

    Oh Annis I was just asking the nurses about you a couple days ago cause you hadnt been to my room to visit and they told me you had moved. I’m gonna miss you pretty lady. I have all my letters from you. You are in heaven probably dancing with Elvis… . I will forever treasure our friendship and I’m gonna miss you. Rest in Peace. Love you Annis…

    Ann is was my babysitter for a few weeks one summer probably is round 1968 or so. She was a wonderful person and I have often wondered where she was as I drive by her old home on oak street. So sorry for the families loss.
