Anna Mae Timpe
Anna Mae Timpe, age 100, of Quincy, died on January 1, 2023 in her home. She was born on February 7, 1922 in Quincy the daughter of William A. and Myrtle E. (Bohne) Timpe. Anna Mae went to Notre Dame High School and then Ancilla Domine High School, and then graduated from DePaul University. Anna Mae was a religious sister for the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ for 29 years and served as a missionary in LaPaz, Bolivia for 4 years. When her father died, Anna Mae left the order to take care of her mother. Upon her return to Quincy, she worked as a substitute teacher in the catholic schools of the area. She also worked as a private tutor in the Quincy area. Anna Mae enjoyed cryptograms. She enjoyed time spent in prayer, she was a member of Blessed Sacrament Parish and a former member of St. Francis Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Secular Franciscans.
Anna Mae is survived by:
HER SISTER: Charlotte R. Buckman.
Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Anna Mae is preceded in death by her parents, and siblings: Virgil Timpe along with his wife Mary Lou, Robert Timpe along with his wife Ceal, Gerald Timpe along with his wife Mary, A. Ralph Timpe along with his wife Mary, Gwen J. Hebson along with her husband Tom and a brother-in-law: Ernie Buckman. Three nephews and three nieces also preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 11:00 AM in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of the services at 11:00. Memorials may be made to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

I graduated with Anna Mae in 1940.
I was one month older and I am not sure who is left of our class. I had not seen her in many years. My health is very good and live at home.

Aunt AnnaMae was a beautiful and kind hearted lady… I always enjoyed hearing her talk about Bolivia… She is missed…
I didn’t know Anna Mae very well, but she is the one who invited me to join her in Bolivia. What a precious gift she gave me! I know she loved her God and wanted to alk humbly and lovingly with God’s people. We will remember her in a Mass in our Nursing Home Chapel this Friday, January 6.
