Andrew Veile
Andrew Veile, age 82, of Quincy, died on December 19, 2024 in the Illinois Veterans Home. He was born on June 29, 1942 in Quincy the son of Andrew and Genevieve (Hummel) Veile. He was a graduate of Quincy Notre Dame. He married Pat Walker on September 21, 1968. She survives.
Andrew worked at Moorman Manufacturing and ADM for almost 40 years. He had also worked at Brown Drug Company for 30 years. Andrew served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. He was active in Cursillo. Along with his wife, Andrew had previously raised and shown Irish Setters. Andrew also liked attending his children’s many functions.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by:
FIVE CHILDREN: Stephen Veile (Regina), Charles Veile, Scott Veile (Bethany), Anthony Veile (Crystal) and Amanda Veile.
A BROTHER: Leroy Veile
Numerous grandchildren including Genevieve, Chevi and William Veile whom Andrew helped to raise, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Andrew was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Norbert Veile along with his wife Barb and a sister in law: Gail Veile.
Funeral services will be held on Monday December 30, 2024 at 12:00 Noon at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Interment in St. Anthony Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 30, 2024 from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at noon. Memorials may be made to the Great River Honor Flight, Cursillo, or to the Great River Teens Encounter Christ (TEC) program. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

I am so sorry to hear this news.
Know that I had made a visit recently to see him and we had a nice visit. We talked about his family and he was in good spirits, looking forward to his move to the Il vets home. I am so happy that that happened for him!
