Amelia George OBITUARY

Amelia George, age 88, of 308 North 8th ST., formerly of 1605 Cherry ST., died on Thursday, May 22, 2008 at 9:10 AM in her home. She was born on July 26, 1919 in Bartonville, IL the daughter of Michael & Dorothy (Yokish) Toshen. She married Raymond George on October 4, 1941 in Palmyra, MO. He preceded her in death on June 8, 1983.

She was a Union United Methodist Church in Quincy.

She loved animals and had many, many pets over the years.

She is survived by:

TWO NIECES: Mariann (Snyder) Skender and her husband David of Peoria, IL and Sherry (Snyder) Evans and her husband Terry of Chillicothe, IL

ONE NEPHEW: Michael Snyder and his wife Diane of Peoria, IL

CAREGIVER: Jill Cobb.

Great-nieces and great nephews and other relatives also survive.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a sister: Marie Snyder.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at 11:00 AM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in Sunset Cemetery of the Illinois Veterans Home. Visitation will be held on Tuesday morning from 10:30 AM until the time of the services. Memorials may be made to the Quincy Humane Society. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
