Alvin E. Gravitt, age 75, of 513 Hampshire, died on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at 2:56 AM in his home. He was born on March 25, 1935 in Quincy, IL the son of Eulis & Willa (Dodd)
Gravitt. He married June Abbott in 1952. She preceded him in death in 1995. Mr. Gravitt was a foundry worker for Gardner-Denver. He was baptized a Christian in Canton, MO. Mr. Gravitt loved to gamble at the Casino in LaGrange. He was a avid racecar fan and a Dodger Baseball fan.

He is survived by:
HIS LONG-TIME COMPANION: Marilyn Justus.
SEVEN CHILDREN: Allen Gravitt, Alvin E. Gravitt, Jr., Roger Gravitt, Gerald Gravitt, Bonnie Gravitt, Timmy Gravitt and his wife Ann, and Johnny Gravitt.
ONE BROTHER: Billy Gravitt and his wife Marilyn.
Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren along with other relatives also survive.

In addition to his wife, Alvin was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 10, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home by Rev. George Tomko. Interment in Quincy Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Charity of the Donor’s Choice.
