Alvera “Pudy” Grawe

Alvera “Pudy” Grawe, age 89, of 711 Sherwood, died on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 in her home. She was born on June 5, 1925 in Quincy, the daughter of Landelin & Rose (Damhorst) Griesbaum. She married Leo E. Grawe on October 30, 1947 in Quincy. He preceded her in death on April 28, 1964. Mrs. Grawe worked at Moorman Manufacturing from 1972 until her retirement in 1990. She was a member of the Church of St. Peter.

She is survived by:
ONE SON: Ronald J. Grawe and his wife Nancy of Quincy
THREE GRANDCHILDREN: Heather Humphrey and her husband Ben of Quincy; Travis Grawe of Princeton, IL; and John Grawe also of Quincy.
TWO GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Nathan Humphrey and Logan Humphrey.
ALSO SURVIVING ARE 2 very special people in her life: Michelle Moore and Scott Herbert whom she loved like her own.
Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives also survive.

In addition to her husband, Alvera was also preceded in death by: her parents, a daughter: Donna Grawe Ruff, three brothers: Alvin, George and Ralph Griesbaum and 3 sisters: Dorothy Griesbaum, Florence Brown and Virginia Grawe.

Funeral services will be held on Monday , September 15, 2014 at 9:00 in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and at 9:30 in the Church of St. Peter. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 3:00 until 6:00 PM. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Church of St. Peter.
