I was taken in by this lovely lady and shared a home for a couple months. I helped with house cleaning cause her age and abilities limited her. She loved my son like her own. I’m sorry for your loss ANNA AND ALICE along with the rest of the family.

I have always enjoyed talking with Alvera. Recently I was in Quincy and stopped by to see her. She was the same, positive woman, trusting in God. You, her children, can be so proud of your mom.

    To the Haxel family:
I was saddened to hear of the loss of the family matriarch, Alvera. I remember so vividly seeing her at every type of QND event, supporting the school and her kids. She especially loved Bingo Sundays. I will pray that God gives you the strength you need in the days ahead, and that HE fills your hearts with only great memories you shared with her. God Bless.

We knew Alvera as a friend from church and she was our Avon lady for many years. She has always had a heart of gold and was such a dear mother to her children and grandchildren. She cared for her husband and was always there supporting him in his illness. Her family was her life. She will be missed.

I had the pleasure of working with Alvera for many years. She was well respected for her vast knowledge of life insurance products and evaluating insurance applications. When I arrived at WCU in 1988 Alvera was working in the Sales Department. She later worked in the Underwriting Department and served as Chief Underwriter. I was blessed to have worked with her for 27 years. She had s great personality and was well liked.
