Alfred “Racey” Parrish

Alfred “Racey” Parrish, age 46, of Quincy died on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 in his home. Racey was born on February 1, 1972 in Quincy a son of Alfred R. Lewis and Suzette Parrish. He married Kesha Wright. She survives.

Racey graduated from Vatterott College and worked at Tor-tel for five years in Olathe, Kansas. He was a machine operator at Manchester Tank, and previously had worked at Trinity Industries.

He served his country in the US Army and was honorably discharged. He was of the Christian faith.

Racey liked music, sports and spending time with his family and his friends. He was also known as “Alf Dog”.

Racey is survived by his parents, his wife and six children; Devin, Raven, Miracle, Alfie, Ma’Kween and Zack.

two sisters; Michelle Parrish and Tisha (Daniel) Bailey both of Quincy; one granddaughter, Amiya “Yinky”; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive.

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, three uncles and one aunt.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. in Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to a fund being established for his children. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
