Albert R. “Bud” Scobee, Jr.

Albert R. “Bud” Scobee, Jr., age 80, of 738 South 17th St., Quincy died on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015at 12:01 p.m. in his home. Bud was born April 9, 1935 in Quincy, a son of Albert R. and Alberta R. (Long) Scobee, Sr. He married Neva P. Puls on March 28, 1975 in Quincy’s Parkview Church, and she survives.

Bud worked at Electric Wheel, Landon Manufacturing Co. and he was the Assistant Animal Warden for Adams County prior to his retirement.

He served in the U.S. Air Force. He was of the Catholic faith. Bud was happiest spending time with his family, and he had a special place in his heart for animals too.

In addition to his wife, survivors also include a daughter, Karen Brown and her husband Tom; two grandchildren, Ashton and Dylan Brown all of Quincy; a brother Tom Scobee and his wife Janet of Quincy; two sisters, Mary Ann Duerwachter and her husband David of Wilmette, IL and Barbara Jean Koenig of St. Louis, MO. Nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Patty.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, November 30, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in Sunset Cemetery at the Illinois Veteran’s Home with military honors. There is no visitation but family and friends are invited to the graveside services. Memorials are suggested to the grandchildren’s education fund.
The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

    Went all through grade school with Bud. A great guy. To the family, please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers at this time of Great Loss – the second in less than a month. God Bless!

    So sorry to hear of Albert’s passing. He worked for us at the flower shop many years ago. I know he will be missed.
