Albert Gaylin Earnst

Albert Gaylin Earnst, age 72, of 637 Spruce, died on Monday, November 18, 2013 in his home. He was born on March 14, 1941 in Quincy, IL the son of Albertrum Levi and Mary Ellen (Cadwallader) Earnst. He married Patricia “Pat” Earnst on October 19, 1963 in St. Francis Catholic Church. She preceded him in death on September 18, 2010.

He worked at Electric Wheel for over 20 years as an electrician. He also worked at Larry’s tavern and later retired from Home Depot. He served in the United States Navy from 1959 to 1963 aboard the USS Boxer. Albert liked to collect baseball cards, play euchre and loved the Chicago Cubs.

Survivors include his children: Ricky Earnst and his wife Marla ; Laura Tournear and her husband Marlon all of Quincy; Jeff Earnst and wife Kim of Beardstown, IL;
Grandchildren: Katie and Patrick Lambert, Cory Earnst, Kaylamarie and Ronald Tournear all of Quincy; Dalton and Amelia Gallaher of Beardstown.
TWO GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Kaceson and Karson McGlaughlin.
and a SPECIAL FAMILY FRIEND Melvin Kindhart. Nieces and nephews also survive including Jimmy and Chris Broemmer and Kim Peters.

In addition to his wife, Albert was also preceded in death by his parents, a sister in infancy and a grandson, Victor Lambert.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 22, 2013 at 11:00 AM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in Calvary Cemetery with military rites at the cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 until 7:00 at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Blessing Foundation for Hospice.
