Alaine Louise Meyer
Alaine Louise Meyer age 89, of 3703 Bonansinga Drive, Quincy, died on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 2:15 p.m. in Sunset Home. She was born February 5, 1922 in Quincy, a daughter of Charles F. and Alma Fay (Stark) Ancell. She married Virgil H.F. Meyer, Sr. on February 4, 1938 in Palmyra, MO and he preceded her in death on February 5, 1982.
Louise was a homemaker and mother.
She was a member of Luther Memorial Church.
Louise loved her family. She got her first drivers license and her GED at the age of forty-four. She loved to read, and was a “soap opera” queen. She was a great cook.
Survivors include her children, JMarie Nieders and her husband Carl;
Virgil “Greg” Meyer, Jr. all of Quincy;
and Jeffrey Meyer of Louisiana, MO. A Brother, Ronald (Sue) Ancell of Mendon and three sisters, Maxine Hubbs, June (Loren “Sonny”) Wiewel all of Quincy and Janice (Kay) Walton of Georgetown, NC.
Daughters-In-Law, Connie Meyer and Lucille Meyer both of Quincy;
17 Grandchildren, 13 Great-Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great Grandson, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, A brother, Robert Ancell; two sisters, Irene Bosse and Jackie Wiewel; a son, Larry Meyer; a step-son Robert Meyer; a step-daughter, Laura Jean Schauf; and a step-grandson, Mark Meyer.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the
Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Greenmount Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Duker & Haugh.
Memorials are suggested to Blessing Foundation for HOSPICE or to the American Cancer Society.
