Adelbert J. Glassford, age 90, of the Sycamore Healthcare Centre, formerly of 1124 North 16th, died on Sunday, November 11, 2012 in the Centre. He was born on June 1, 1922 in Rockport, IL, the son of Pearl J. & Gertrude (Rowsey) Glassford. He married Pearl K. Wieprecht on July 3, 1942 in Palmyra, MO. She preceded him in death on September 29, 1995.

Mr. Glassford was a handyman in various industries over the years. He was of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Glassford did a lot of gardening and loved storytelling and music. He used to play the saxophone.

He is survived by:
TWO CHILDREN: Cathryn “Kay” Kahs and Adelbert J.”Bert” Glassford II both of Quincy.
DAUGHTER-IN-LAW: Cindy Crook.
GRANDCHILDREN; Crystal Gooding and her husbasnd Chris, Mark Kahs and his wife DeeDee, Steven Kahs, James Kahs, Elleina Jeffrey and her husband Bert, Timothy Fuhrman and James Fuhrman.
GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Jennifer Harbison and her husband Donnie, Jonathon Gooding and his wife Kati, Samantha Kahs, Kyle, Luke, Erik, Sophia & Owen Kahs, Ashlynn Fuhrman, Nevaeh, James, and Justice Ann Fuhrman.
GREAT-GREAT GRANDSON: D.J. Harbison.
A SISTER: Dorothy Miller along with numerous other nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by: his parents, 3 sons: William, Timothy and Chris Glassford, a son-in-law: Frank Kahs, a sister: Virginia Rumsey, a brother Earl Glassford and a great-great Grandson Donnie Harbison, Jr.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 1:00 PM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 12:00 noon until the time of the services. Memorials may be made to the Blessing Cancer Center.
