Louis Iven Wilson, Jr.
Louis Iven Wilson, Jr., of Quincy, IL, formerly of Monmouth, age 55, passed away in Blessing Hospital on Thursday, August 27, 2026. He was born on April 26, 1971, in Moline, IL, a son of Louis I. and Gail L(Harden) Wilson, Sr., Raised by his loving grandmother Vera Kilpatrick of Monmouth, Il.
Louis graduated from Monmouth High School in 1992. He lived in a group home in Monmouth and was an Achiever at Warren Achievement Center. He then moved to Quincy to a group home Garden Grove Court and was part of Transitions of Western Illinois. He also participated in Special Olympics and won many medals, which he was very proud of. Louis “Loved everyone and everyone loved Louis!” He was very active throughout his life. Louis enjoyed meeting new friends, he never knew what a stranger was and he wanted to be “in the middle of everything”. He enjoyed being outdoors, swimming with his goggles, he loved watching wrestling with John Cena, car racing, football, bowling and baseball. Karaoke was another one of his favorite activities, singing songs by Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash. Towards the end of his life, Louis was an avid Doggy Paddlers fan and got the attention of the players who loved him in return. Louis’s favorite past time was being with his family and friends. Louis could always place a smile on your face.
Louis is survived by his siblings: Charles Clark, Danny Wilson, and Evelyn (Kurt Rossiter); Aunts: Judi Anthony, Karen Cassidy, and Phylis Wilson; Nephews: Brent (Amber) Wilson- Rielle, Jada, Lincoln. Eric (Jennifer) Chewning-Elise and Elliott, and Tyler Fuhrman-Tyvin. Nieces: Tiffany Seaver-Kaiden, Keira, Paige and Thomas Dean. Deanna Rossiter-Destiny and Ivan, and Kelly (Corey) Bell- Gracie. Many cousins and friends also survive.
Louis is preceded in death by his sister-in-law Crystal “Chrissy” Wilson, his parents: Louis Wilson and Gail Mosley, his grandparents: Vera Kilpatrick and Charles Wilson and numerous Uncles, Aunts, Cousins.
Cremation rites have been accorded with no formal services planned. The family will plan a gathering at a later time. The Duker and Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
