Maurine Magliocco
Maurine Magliocco, age 81, of Quincy, passed away on July 30, 2026 at Blessing Hospital.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 14, 2026 at 10:00 am at St. Peter Catholic Church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2026 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home.

When I think of Maurine, I always picture her with that lovely smile. As the leader of the faculty team negotiating WIU’s first contract, she brought brought warmth, intelligence, and an indefatigable energy to the process. Her commitment to making the world a better place was an example for all of us who were blessed to know her.
Maurine was a wonderful person. We were officemates for a few years. I’ll never forget the good times, the discussions — grammar, pronunciation. feminism. RIP, Maurine, and keep an eye on what is going on, as angels probably can’t be fully trusted.
