Harold M. Kirlin

Harold M. Kirlin, Jr. age 91, of Quincy, died on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 in Sunset Home. He was born on August 13, 1934 in Camp Point Township, Adams Co. Illinois.

Harold married Judith A. ‘Judy’ Schoenekase on September 12, 1959 in St. Rose Catholic Church. She preceded him in death on December 17, 2025.

Harold served two years active duty in the Army and four years in reserves. Harold worked as a foreman for Electric Wheel in the Experimental Department. Later, he worked in maintenance at Refreshment Services Pepsi. Harold also farmed and raised cattle. He loved his garden, his flowers, and liked to fish. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the V.F.W.

He is survived by his children: Karen Beckett (Keith) Dan Kirlin (Kristi), Michael Kirlin (Traci), and David Kirlin (Katie).

Grandchildren: Katherine Beckett-Suter (Tim), Nicole Ramsey (Austin), Greg Kirlin (Tyler Sloan), Blake Kirlin (Madelyn Vahle), Ryne Kirlin (Kalyn) and Chase Kirlin.
Step-Grandchildren: Brandon Ihrig (Katelyn) and Amanda Townsend (Anthony)
Nine great-grandchildren.
Along with numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

In addition to his wife, Harold was also preceded in death by his father Harold M. Kirlin, Sr., his mother Birdie Viar and a brother, Eugene and a sister, Betty.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at 11:00 AM in St. Francis Catholic Church. Interment to follow in Calvary Cemetery with military rites conducted at the cemetery by the American Legion Post #37 and the United States Army Honors Detail. Visitation will be held at St. Francis Catholic Church on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 from 10:00 AM until the time of the Mass at 11:00 AM. Memorials may be made to St. Francis Catholic Church or to the Great River Honor Flight. Service arrangements are with the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home.
