Robert E. Vargas, 81, was born February 12, 1945. He was born to Tomas and Aurora (Esquivel) Vargas in San Antonio, TX. He died on March 27, 2026, in Quincy, IL, after a very long hard fight with prostate cancer.

Robert was married to Bertha (Pat) Mays. They had 5 children, Robin, Serena, Jamie, Katina and Robert L.

Robert had 7 grandchildren: Kenny, Jessica, Lucas, Dylan, Dan, Robbert and Kennedy.

Robert had 7 great grandchildren.

Robert moved to Quincy, IL in 2015. He soon started volunteering and working at the Quincy Senior Center where he was loved and accepted and cherished by all that knew him.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents, ex-wife, son Jaime. His brothers: Joe, Luis, Sesario. Sisters: Maggie Pauline, Betsy, Irene, Olga (Cookie) and Vicky. A grandson Kenny.

Robert is survived by his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and sisters: Janie, Linda, and Mary Martinez.
