Peggy Sue Riley
Peggy Sue Riley, age 72, of Camp Point, died on February 20, 2026 in Timberpoint Health Care Center. She was born on August 19, 1953 in Quincy, the daughter of Clement and Shirley (Cole) Strieker.
She was of Christian faith. Peggy worked at a shoe factory and was a stay-at-home mother who took care of several other family members’ children throughout the years of her life.
Peggy is survived by her three children: Melissa Riley, Donald (Heather) Riley, Jr, and John (Stephanie ) Riley all of Liberty, IL.
Grandchildren: Corey Smith, Rachel (Austin) Smith Bruening, Courtney (Jacob) Snyder, Connor Riley, and Olivia Riley.
Great-Grandchildren: Bryson Smith, Ariaha Bruening, and Averie Bruening.
Siblings: Andrew Strieker of Quincy, Michael Strieker of Quincy, Ricky Strieker of Jacksonville, IL, Donald (Kristie) Strieker of Quincy, Barbara Straube of Camp Point, IL, Kathy (Kenneth mark) Blanchett of LaGrange, MO, and Priscilla Gilker of Quincy.
Her best friend, Bill Riley, various nieces, nephews, and other family members also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Gary Strieker, a sister Emma Bruening, nephews Joseph Strieker, Gary Strieker, Joe Folwer, and a niece Tabbatha Strieker.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of Peggy’s life will be held at a later date. Service arrangements are with the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home.
peggy was a close friend of me and my family she was kind caring and loving we had nick names for each other when i was on the phone shed call me lil nightmare and id call her big nightmare she was like a second mother to me. she was close to my mom always calling eachother and going to visit her. i been wanting to go see her but they go when i cant go. peggy was like a ray of sunshine and warm to us . and she will be deeply missed by all of us love u big nightmare i will cherish our memories forever
