Lloyd “Sonny” Warning, Jr.

Lloyd “Sonny” Warning, Jr., age 70, of Quincy, IL, passed away on Friday, November 21, 2025, in Quincy. He was born on December 25, 1954, in Quincy, IL, a son to Lloyd and Shirley (Walton) Warning, Sr.

Sonny was raised in Liberty, IL and graduated from Liberty High School. He was a factory worker in his youth and worked in the Walmart Supercenter in Quincy until his retirement.

He enjoyed hunting deer and mushrooms. Sonny would often participate in poker runs and rode his Harley-Davidson Softail every chance he got. If he wasn’t outdoors, he liked to watch Gunsmoke, old westerns, and all kinds of football. Sonny was a huge St. Louis Cardinals fan and was always wearing a hat with the Cardinals logo or Mark Macquire’s signature.

Sonny is survived by his sister, Debra Bowler; a nephew, Harold Bowler, Jr.; and numerous other relatives also survive.

He was proceeded in death by his partner of over 30 years, Theresa Dickerson; his parents; brother-in-law, Harold Bowler, Sr.; and other uncles and cousins.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A private service in Calvary Cemetery is planned at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Blessing Foundation for Hospice and Palliative Care. Arrangements are with the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home.

    Sonny was so great to my sister. They were the perfect pair. I am deeply sorry that they are no longer with us.
    I hope they are together again.
    I miss them deeply.

    My thought’s and Prayers are with his family, Sonny and I worked together for many years at Wal-Mart. He will be missed.

      Im sorry to hear about sonny he was a good man me and him use to joke around i use to call him Lynyrd Skynyrd we both worked at Walmart im really sorry for his family’s lost he will be miss rest in peace sonny
