Karen Sue Steinkamp
Karen Sue Steinkamp, age 63, of Quincy, died on November 10, 2025 in Blessing Hospital. She was born on September 9, 1962, the daughter of Lawrence “Larry” and Virigina (Liesen) Steinkamp.
She was a graduate of Quincy Senior High School. Karen was employed as an inspector at the Paper Box Company until its closing. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Parish.
Karen enjoyed sewing and gardening in her free time. She could often be found thrifting for shoes to add to her collection of Converse shoes.
She is survived by ONE CHILD: Brian Olson.
MOTHER: Virigina Steinkamp. SIBLINGS: Linda Gertz (Randy) and Sara Coovert (Aaron). Numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.
She was preceded in death by her father, a brother David Steinkamp, and siblings Kevin, Eva, Paul, and Jacob all in infancy.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at 1:00 PM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 12:00 noon until the time of the services at 1:00. Memorials may be made to the Gift of Hope Organ Donation of Illinois. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Sorry to hear of her passing. I remember Karen well from Grade school up through High school – Karen was always a sweet caring soul
I am so sorry to hear of Karen’s passing. I remember many days of playing with her after school and during the summer. We had lots of fun playing in the neighborhood. May the perpetual light shine upon on her and she rest in peace.

So sorry to hear of Karen’s passing. I remember her from high school always having a smile on her face. Such a beautiful soul. Rest in peace. Linda and family you are all in my thoughts and prayers.
So sorry to hear of Karen’s passing. We were childhood friends from Emerson School. The friendship continued through our school years and beyond. She was a genuinely nice person and fun to be around. Rest in peace – you fought the good fight and deserve to celebrate in Heaven.
