William J.E. “Bill” Benge

William J.E. “Bill” Benge, 80, of Quincy, died at 8:20 PM Thursday, June 26, 2025 in his home.

Bill was born April 24, 1945, the son of Brian and Viola (Pennell) Benge of Quincy. They preceded him in death. He married Erma “Candy” Beaston, of Quincy, on October 29, 1962. Erma died on February 1, 2025.

Bill served in the U.S. Army with an honorable discharge. He was a mechanic, welder, metal fabricator, and owned a portable welding service. He worked for many companies in Quincy such as Doyle Manufacturing, Manchester Tank, Titan Wheel, and retired from Marlboro Wire in 2010.

Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching old classic Westerns, and getting loves from his grand-daughter cat, Itty Bity. He was a loving father and husband.

He is survived by his son, Bill Benge and his wife, Lisa. Brother, Don Fox (Lonita). Various nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

In addition to his wife, Bill was preceded in death by his sister, Sharon Hubbard, brother David Fox.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, July 10, 2025, in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home followed by inurnment in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 10, 2025 until the time of services in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the Blessing Cancer Center or the Quincy Humane Society. Service arrangements for William J.E. “Bill” Benge are with the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home.

    I Just wanted to say I’m sorry for your loss. There is nothing harder than losing people you love . A father’s love is like no other . Just have faith in knowing one day you will be with him again. Sending prayers and healing your way 🙏
