Kevin Shelton Sr., age 67, of Quincy, IL, transitioned on Monday, April 28, 2025 at Blessing Hospital. Kevin was born on January 26, 1958 in Iowa City, Iowa. The son of John Johnson and Joyce (Dugan) Wallace. He married Cynthia Osborne on March 2, 1996, she survives.

Kevin found joy in his work in auto sales and car detailing. Kevin attended Proviso East in Maywood, IL where he was an ALL American Basketball player. He found his first church home with Rev. Porter at Proviso 1st Baptist Church of Maywood, IL. His biggest joy came from time spent with his grandchildren, children, watching the games with his sons, chatting with his sister and brother-in-law (Pammie and Jay) during his daily morning coffee and scratch-offs. He was also known for his barbecuing through every season, and famous potato salad. One of the best and biggest trash talkers at the Spades, Poker, Dominoes, or even Uno table.

To know Kevin was to love him, he gave it to you straight. He would talk mess to anyone and have you laughing by the end of it. One time he had Sue laughing so hard on a trip, she had to pull over to contain herself.
Kevin left his mark on everyone he came across during his time here. He impacted many young men’s lives throughout the years. His influence and love will be felt long after his departure.

In addition to his wife Cynthia, mother Joyce (Henry), bonus mom Louella Johnson, and mother-in-law Genevia “Sue” Osborne. Kevin was preceded in death by his father John Johnson, his brothers: Chris, Jerry, and Jason, Grandmother: Bertha “Grams” Chambers, Aunt: Dixie Wilkerson and Father-in-law: Donald Osborne, Brother in-law: Mark Scott.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 9, 2025 at 1:00 at the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Friday from 12:00 until the time of services at 1:00 at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the family to help with expenses. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
