Robert Paul

Robert L. Paul, age 93, of Quincy, died on Thursday, April 24, 2025 in Blessing Hospital. He was born on July 21, 1931 in Quincy the son of Russell & Dorothy (Willer) Paul. He married Mary K. Doellman on July 14, 1962. She preceded him in death on January 1, 2016.

Bob served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He received his Masters from Colorado State University. Bob was a teacher at Quincy Senior High School for many years.
He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church.

Bob was always creating, learning and exploring. His many projects over the years include such endeavors as: constructing a family camper, beekeeping, raising rabbits, boating with his children to Hogback Island, building a garage, woodworking, metal working, fishing, crafting remote controlled airplanes, flying kites, repairing cars and landscaping. An avid reader and history buff, Bob was no stranger to the Quincy Public Library, where he could frequently be seen studying a wide range of topics. Among his favorites were histories of World War II and The American Civil War. It was common to see Bob reading not only reading a book, but several books at once. He and Mary took many excursions together, often to visit their children and grandchildren and in the golden years of their marriage they rewarded themselves with several cruises to the Caribbean. In his later years Bob could be found closer to home at favorite haunts such as Sprouts and Taco Bell where he became a welcome and favorite regular.

He is survived by four children, Michelle Hagstrom and her husband Joseph of Quincy; Amy Khalil and her husband Nader of Omaha, NE; Greg Paul and his wife Lisa Dove of Manhattan, NY; Becky Doran and her husband Darin of Quincy; ten grandchildren, Nicole Hagstrom Schmidt and her husband Scott, Michael Hagstrom, Brianna Hagstrom, Akram, Samantha and Ahmed Khalil, Hawken and Finn Paul, Jamie and Dakota Doran; great-grandchildren, Sofia, Theoden, and Cecelia Schmidt. A Brother: Tom Paul and his wife Kathleen of Westlake, CA.
Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

In addition to his wife, Bob was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Janet Meyer along with her husband David.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at 9:30 in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Peter Catholic Church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Blessing Foundation for Hospice. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
